Welcome from the President

Dear Colleague,

Welcome to the Irvine Teachers Association! Whether you're just starting your career in IUSD or joining us after years in the classroom, we're glad you're here. ITA exists to make sure every certificated employee in this district has a strong voice; in our contract, in our schools, and in the decisions that shape our profession. As a member, you're backed by the full support of the California Teachers Association and the National Education Association, access to your site rep and our Executive Board, and a community of colleagues who show up for each other. Membership is how we build the leverage to protect fair compensation, reasonable workloads, and the conditions that let us do right by our students. We're glad to have you in it with us. Please reach out anytime, and welcome to the team.

In Solidarity,

Jes Bracken

President, Irvine Teachers Association

Learn About the Union

Your local union is the Irvine Teachers Association (ITA). ITA is part of the Orange Service Center Council (OSCC), the regional organization that supports and coordinates local teacher associations throughout Orange County.

The OSCC is one of several service center councils operating under the California Teachers Association (CTA), the statewide union representing California educators. CTA, in turn, is affiliated with the National Education Association (NEA), the nation's largest professional organization for educators.

As an ITA member, you are also a member of the OSCC, CTA, and NEA. This membership provides access to the advocacy, professional development, legal support, member benefits, and resources available at the local, regional, state, and national levels.
